There are 2
license types available - dedicated and concurrent licenses. The
difference between the two licensing schemes is explained below.
Concurrent
License
Concurrent license
allows you to add as many users as you like, all with logon access,
but only N users can be logged on at any one time. N is the number of
concurrent users purchased. For example, if you purchase 10
concurrent licenses, you can add as many users as you like - all with
logon access but only 10 users can logon at any one time.
Dedicated
License
Dedicated means "per
user". For example, if you have 10 users and want all of them to
have access, then you purchase a 10 dedicated user license. You can add
as many users as you like but only nominate 10 users with logon
access.
Annual
Maintenance
Free
technical support is included with all our products even if you
don't buy annual maintenance. Annual
maintenance is optional and entitles you to 12 months of free
upgrades. If you don't purchase annual maintenance, you can
still continue to use the software as there's no expiry date.
To purchase annual
maintenance, you must be on the current version.
AegisWeb
Use the web front end to provide
your external clients with a self-help facility and reduce support calls and cost. Give
your clients the ability to log and view their own calls, search
the knowledge base and view FAQs via the web without them
calling your support center.
If you
like all your clients to log their own calls, you can purchase a
Client Web Access license. This allows all your clients to log
their own calls via the web. Please contact us for pricing on
the Client Web Access.
Client
Web Access License
With
AegisWeb, you
can either logon as a user or as client. Users are help
desk/technical support staff within your company and clients are
external to your companies or internal users within your company
that you provide help desk support to. If you logon as a user,
you have access to everything, only restricted by your security
setup. If you logon as a client, you can only add new calls,
view all calls you logged previously, search the Knowledge Base
and FAQs.
The Client Web Access License is meant for
an environment where you have a number of technicians providing
support to a large number of user and/or clients. For example:
1) Company A provides support to all
internal users. The service desk has 50 help desk technicians
supporting 5000 staff. The help desk technician will login as
users and the 5000 internal staff will login as clients. In this
case Company A can either buy 50 dedicated licenses or 45
concurrent licenses to share between the technicians and a 1000
client web access license.
2) Company B sells products and provides
support to their customers. They have 10 support staff and over
500 clients. The help desk technician will login as users and
the 500 customers will login as clients. In this case Company B
can either buy 10 dedicated licenses or 8 concurrent licenses to
share between the support staff and a 500 client web access
license.
The
cost for the client web access license depends on the number of
licenses.
